About the event
Join two local women-owned businesses celebrate their love for Pennsylvania and the food produced here!Â
Amy and Matt from Destiny Dairy Bar and Stephanie from Central Wedge will guide you through a relaxing and fun afternoon including live piano music, a farm tour and a four course meal. Each course will feature Pennsylvania-made cheese and Waygu-cross beef grown at Destiny Dairy Bar. Â
A deep love for dairy cows motivated Amy, a third generation dairy farmer, to establish a business bottling milk produced on their family farm. Stephanie found her motivation to start a cheese shop when she tasted flavorful cheese made by Pennsylvania dairy farmers. This event brings their passion together for a celebration of local foods, prepared by Matt, a chef and lover of fine foods.Â
Course 1:Â
Stephanie from Central Wedge will guide you through four cheese pairings featuring fresh cheeses best enjoyed during summer months. As you enjoy each pairing, Stephanie will share background on the cheese style and stories about the cheesemakers. Samples of adult beverages will be provided to enjoy with each pairing!
Course 2:Â
Matt will serve a Summer Wrap featuring local goat cheese, baby arugula, cranberries and almonds wrapped in rice paper with balsamic glaze drizzle - perfectly refreshing for a summer salad.
Course 3:Â
The main course will feature a perfectly smoked and marbled ribeye roast from Amy's Waygu-cross beef, paired with cauliflower wasabi puree and a side of a baked gouda potato stack.
Course 4:
A modern take on the summer favorite of strawberry shortcake, your taste buds will rejoice at the flavor of Destiny Dairy Bar vanilla ice cream and strawberries on a cardamom ricotta waffle.Â
During dinner, Amy's son Colter will play original piano music (a favorite of dairy cows!). It's not a visit to Destiny Dairy Bar without a farm tour! Amy will guide you around the farm, explaining the rythm of dairy farm life.Â
Seats are limited so talk to your friends and get your tickets soon! Dress casual for a farm atmosphere. Dinner will be served in a shed to minimize heat and allow for a breeze created by barn fans. No meal subsitutions permitted. BYOB is encouraged.Â
